Addendum Dwelling Units (ADUs) are another tiny house option. Perfect for someone who owns a regular house with a large yard and would like to share it with a family member or as a rental.
ADUs, often called granny units are legal in many places where a tiny house on wheels might not be allowed. More and more prefab ADUs are being developed these days and Boxable out of Las Vegas, Nevada recently introduced their concept which will be put into full production later this year.
Boxable is introducing the Casita as its first model. At 375 square feet, it is similar in size to a converted double car garage. Designed as a studio apartment with a full-size bathroom and kitchen appliances. At $49,500 loaded, all that is needed is a foundation to park, unfold, and connect to local utilities.
In the near future, more modules will be added to production. The boxable is stackable and connectable so can be configured in many different ways.
